THE EVOLUTION OF THE PORT MACQUARIE MID NORTH COAST ULYSSES BRANCH

SEPT 1983 – The Ulysses Club was Formed.

NOV 1985 – Ron Andrews sent out invitations to 8 known members asking to meet at Dorrigo RSL with the idea of forming a new branch only 2 people responded so meeting failed.

MAY 1986 – Ron Andrews had a second attempt to form a branch and 22 people attended at Dorrigo RSL which led to the formation of the North East NSW Branch. Meetings were held at the Golden Dog Hotel at Glenreagh.

JUNE 1989 – The North East NSW Branch was split into smaller branches based on their area code. Thus, our Branch was formed and called 065 and their meetings were held at Long Flat Hotel.

JULY 1995 – A tenth Anniversary reunion was celebrated with all breakaway branches at the Golden Dog Hotel Glenreagh.

In 1999 – The 065 Branch name was changed to Mid North Coast to better identify the area.

In June 2001 – The Mid North Coast Branch was changed from an Informal to a formal Branch. Now with the addition of a Treasurer.

2003 – Mid north Coast Meetings were held at Harrington Bowling Club.

In July 2010 – Mid North Coast Branch was split with the formation of the Manning Valley Branch. The Mid North Coast then held monthly meetings alternating between Kendall Services Club and Westport Club.

MARCH 2015 – the Mid North Coast had another Name change and is now known as the Port Macquarie Mid North Coast Ulysses Branch.

MAY 2017 – the Port Macquarie Mid North Coast Branch hosted the 2017 National Ulysses AGM.

June 2019 – PMMNC 30th Anniversary

June 2024 – PMMNC 35th Anniversary
